As of March 15th, the eTA is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air.

Rail travel is another great option and a memorable way to travel. Pacific Central Station is located in downtown Vancouver and offers routes to destinations across Canada and the Pacific Northwest. VIA Rail, Amtrak, and Rocky Mountaineer all offer rail service to and from Vancouver.
Delegates attending the congress from Canadian and U.S. destinations may choose to drive. If you are travelling from the United States, you can drive across the border. Interstate 5 (I-5) from Seattle becomes Highway 99 across the Canada/U.S. border. This highway leads directly to Vancouver.
Canada has a well-earned reputation for public safety, fair business practices, racial tolerance, and generous hospitality. As with any international travel, IPA delegates will require a valid passport to visit Canada.

The Conference Organizers recommend that if required, you apply for a visa as soon as your attendance is confirmed, as visa requests can often take months to process.
***Important - United States Visa Requirements*** - Prior to booking your flight, please note that if your flight includes a stop-over in the United States, you may require an additional visa in order to enter the US. Please review the US Department of State website for details on which countries require visas for entry: Visa Waiver Program (VWP).
The IPA 2016 Congress Secretariat would be pleased to provide letters of invitation to Delegates registered for the IPA 2016 Congress to assist in their visa applications for travel to Canada. In order to be issued an invitation letter, the participant must be registered for the Conference.
Letters of Invitation will not be issued to Accompanying Persons. Please note that while the letter will be an official invitation, applicants are responsible for all costs of attending the Conference and applying for a visa.
Application for a visa must be made by the person to whom this letter is addressed, and directly to the appropriate Canadian Embassy/High Commission. The Congress Secretariat will not apply for a visa on your behalf.
